When entrepreneurial South African restauranteurs Chris and Ryan conceptualised the Copper Club, they created an extra dimension to the casual dining options available to Cape Town locals and visitors alike.
I have had the opportunity to shoot images for their menu two years in a row and it has been a pleasure. Working with great people makes my work even enjoyable.
Now their vision has extended to include Botany, a cocktail lounge, as well as Patina Steak and Fine Wine, an upmarket steakhouse, which together with the Copper Club diners form part of the Copper Collection.
The Cardoso hotel sits in the leafy Museum neighborhood of Maputo, Mozambique. It is a perfect oasis for both business and leisure. this beautiful art deco inspired building is a hidden gem.
I had the opportunity to spend some time with the Cardoso team to create a contemporary drink and food menu with an authentic Portuguese twist. I am happy to say that we made a little bit of magic happen.
Make sure you visit them whenever you are in Maputo for a little slice of heaven.

These four bottled cocktails were all traditional recipes with South African twists.
Comfortably nestled in the heart of Kloof Street, Gardens Collectors Club brought a breath of fresh air to the centre of Cape Town's social scene.
All desert magic and mischief, these drinks might just help bring your rabbit out they are that delicious.
I had the opportunity to design these drinks for the South African launch of 4th Rabbit. The drink are based on the four pillars of flavours you experience when you sip on this delicious 100% Karoo gave spirit; Citrus, Smoke, honey & earth and lastly floral.

This award-winning Gin was conceptualised in 2015 by three food and drinks industry specialists. They wanted to bring a liquid to life that is refreshing and delicious, yet layered with the warmth of selected spices. Bloedlemoen (pronounced ‘Blue’d Le Moon’) is a quintessentially South African gin made from the delicious Tarocco Blood Orange, and proudly boasts as the first Blood Orange Gin in the World.
If you don’t know this baby then you are seriously missing out.
Expect citrus and juniper on the nose, nutmeg and cassia on the palate and a lingering blood orange aftertaste, from where it got its name. The label was beautifully brought to life through the internationally renowned local miniatures artist, Lorraine Loots. A piece of art we found so beautiful, we decided to add nothing else to it.
I say we, because I have the privilege and the pleasure to be part of the Bloedlemoen family.

The 4th Rabbit follows the traditional mezcal production process of Mexico.
Our agave plants are cooked in a fire-heated, stone-lined pit underground before fermentation – true to Mexican authenticity.
A passion project for the famous wine maker Adi Badenhorst, we seem to have ‘all’ the fun making this spirit.
It’s all about desert magic and mischief.

One and Only Resorts International teamed up with the largest luxury bartending competition in the world, World Class. The idea? To showcase their beautiful hotels and the countries they reside in, by creating a signature drink with some homegrown flavour.
A World Class global finalist would be flown down to the country to experience the sights, sounds and of course flavours of South Africa and design a drink with those elements in mind. And voilà! Perfection!

Uitkyk Wine Estate is situated on the Southwestern slopes of the Simonsberg mountain and looks out across the hills to Table mountain in the distance. Hence the name “Uitkyk” is quite appropriate.

The film In Light of Is, is a magical realism drama about two sisters who find a flicker of magic in their secluded world. The film deals with the universal themes of loss, sacrifice and hope.
All the cast and crew traveled from Joburg and Cape Town to Wilderness to a remote guest farm where we shot the film in three days. Crave Photography captured the moments behind the scenes.

They call me Madam Mallemok. The mighty wanderer as it is affectionately known is the very first vodka that I helped design.
Made from Chenin blanc grapes and table mountain aquifer water, it is distilled cold to retain its earthy grape character. Apparently the judges at the South African Woman’s wine and spirit awards enjoyed it as much as we do and awarded it a gold medal.

Quite an innovative competition from the Bell's team. Perhaps they should treat themselves to one too.
The world’s 1st blood orange gin is South African and it is slipping into a sexy new bottle. And as pretty as it is, it is also delicious. Winning a double gold at the Michelangelo awards with a score of 96 out of a 100.
